Childhood’s End is a science fiction mini-series on the SyFy channel which airs December 14,15, and 16. The promotional trailers described it as one to remember. Think “Battlestar Galactica” and “Star Trek”, says the advert. The series has been praised by erstwhile publications like the Wall Street Journal and has been awarded Critic’s Choice Award by the Broadcast Television Journalist’s Association.
How much freedom can you handle? Would you trade your freedom for the promise of a Utopia? The issue is dramatized in this 3 part series on the SyFy channel -
Childhood’s End started out as a book by Arthur C. Clarke, one of the big three science fiction writers of the 1950s.It is difficult, even in a 6 hour film, to go over every dialogue line and plot twist of a 224 page book (paperback version) but, after watching the two hour premiere, it sure seems like they tried.
