Fox News: Now Safe for Democrats

Apparently, it’s now safe for Democrats to appear on Fox. Last night, Hillary Clinton had a congenial tete-a-tete with Chris Wallace. Most people will remember that Democratic candidates were too timid to be interviewed by any television stations which would not promise to refrain from embarrassing foreign policy questions. On Fox News this morning, Lanny Davis admitted that McCain is the candidate most feared by Democrats. The reason, says Davis, is that McCain appeals to independent voters and many Democrats who would like to have seen Joe Lieberman ascendant in their party instead of scorned, undermined, and abandoned like a bad conscience. All Republican voters do not wish to have a heart-shaped paens to Anne Coulter tattooed on their arms.
