New York City Bags Tea Party Activist Mark Meckler - Yahoo! News
COMMENTARY | Congress needs to pass a national permit to carry weapons, even one that's limited to legal passage in transit. Some states have reciprocity agreements with other states, but one must be careful of restrictions, cautions the "gunlaws" website.
New York City gun laws have criminalized an otherwise law-abiding American citizen when it arrested Tea Party Patriots co-founder Mark Meckler at LaGuardia Airport.
Gun-control crusaders on Twitter were initially heartened at the bonus catch of bagging a tea party founder but now Second Amendment advocates are battling back.

Is Corzine directly responsible for the losses?
Under licensing, law and regulation, Corzine had a strict obligation to follow the rules against commingling funds. However, Corzine has released a stunning prepared statement in which he claims not to know where $1.2 billion dollars is. Asked by a congressman if he'd authorized the commingling of customer funds, Corzine made an ambiguous response saying he didn't "intend" for that to happen

Natural Gas Honda Civic Beats Electric Volt as the Right Green Car - Yahoo! News: "My idea of a hybrid car is one without the electric motor, battery not included. Natural gas vehicles seemed a far better environmental and energy solution than either electrics or hybrids.
Didn't Volt fans realize that electric came from burning oil, coal, from hydro or nuclear plants, all of which were viewed as threats to the environment?"

"I didn't want to hurt anyone," the woman defendant sobs pitifully in court.
But right away, I'm thinking there's something wrong with me, that I'm anti-social or have a psychopathic personality. I don't feel sorry for the defendant at all.

Remember the Ford Edsel? How about the Chevy Corvair? Both cars figure prominently on Time Magazine's "50 Worst Cars of All Time" list.
Ralph Nader killed the rear engine Chevy Corvair but wasn't charged with vehicular homicide. A head-on collision usually ended up with the other car in your lap and your torso impaled on your own steering wheel.
So where are you now that we need you, Ralph Nader?

Recording Points to Syracuse Assistant Basketball Coach Bernie Fine - Yahoo! News
Until a recording of a dialogue between Laurie Fine and Bobby Davis resurfaced, it looked as if Bernie Fine, assistant basketball coach at Syracuse University, might dodge the bullet. Fine and coach Jim Boeheim were quick to disparage allegations of child sex abuse levied against Fine. Now that has changed. Fine was fired Sunday and Boeheim says it the right thing to do.
Why didn't the recording surface earlier?

Defense Counters in Sandusky Child Sex Abuse Charges - Yahoo! News..................................The term "bombshell" is tossed around so much as a teaser to news stories that people are numb to it. Not so with the accusations of child sex abuse against former Penn State defensive coordinator Jerry Sandusky.
There were immediate convulsions of anger, revulsion, and shock at the allegations made against Sandusky.
However, a resourceful defense strategy could conceivably get Sandusky cleared of some charges. As always, there are questions:

After Egypt Perp Walk, American College Students Return Home - Yahoo! NewsCOMMENTARY | What could be more embarrassing than being arrested on the rooftops of the American University of Cairo with Molotov cocktails in hand? I could only think of two things worse.
Being shot dead is one of them. The second most embarrassing thing is to have your picture transmitted worldwide in a group shot, telltale bottles presumably filled with flammable liquid, held in your hands.

Penn State Lessons -- Male-on-Male Sex Predation Often Hidden - Yahoo! NewsWhen sexual abuse occurs with a male perpetrator and male victims, there is a strong tendency, especially on the part of university athletic departments, to either hide it behind a wall of pseudo-masculinity or to make it disappear in the black hole of political correctness.

Courting Chicago's well-known wealthy Pritzker family paid off big for the man who would become president. It was fellow Chicagoan and long-time Obama friend Martin Nesbitt who introduced Obama and Pritzker.
Not ironically, it was Pritzker money that financed Nesbitt's successful startup of The Parking Spot.
