President Barack Obama said that consular employee Raymond Davis is entitled to full diplomatic immunity for killing two men he believed were trying to harm him.

Davis has been identified as an advisory consular official in American accounts of the incident. The Pakistanis have a problem with the claim that Davis was a consular official.

They say that diplomats don't carry guns. In fact, Davis was a former Special Forces operator with extensive firearms experience.
