Cut Congressional Perks Before You Cut Anything

In a down economy, a good benefits package can be hard to find.
But on Capitol Hill, a 401(k) and health plan is just the beginning. The
Hundreds of candidates vying for a coveted congressional seat this November will
Earn more than a chance at shaping the nation's legislative priorities if
Elected -- they'll tap into a mountain of perks that most Fortune 500 companies
Couldn’t begin to rival.

A little-known benefit drew some attention Wednesday after it was reported that
The family of the late West Virginia Sen. Robert Byrd will be paid his $193,000
salary next year. That's just the tip of the benefits iceberg that comes with
being a venerable member of Congress.

For those entering any of the 535 seats in Congress next year, here's a glance
at the world of juicy perks coming their way:

Fun Money: The base salary for a member of Congress is $174,000. But all members
enjoy access to a separate piggy bank known as their "allowance." This funding
generally goes toward maintaining their offices and building up a legislative
entourage. In the House, representatives are allowed to spend more than $900,000
on salaries for up to 18 permanent employees. They get about a quarter-million
dollars more for office expenses, including travel, and additional funding for a
well-known congressional perk known as "franking." Franking is the term for the
mass constituent mail sent out by members of Congress and paid for courtesy of
the taxpayer.

Senators enjoy the same privilege but get a much bigger allowance for their
office expenses. According to a Congressional Research Service report, the
average allocation for fiscal 2010 was more than $3.3 million. Personnel money
varies depending on how big of a state a senator represents -- a senator from
New York is going to get more than a senator from Montana. But for starters,
each senator is given a $500,000 budget to hire up to three legislative
assistants.

Nice Digs: A seat in Congress comes with office space -- lots of it. Not only do
members move into an office on Capitol Hill, they maintain space in their home
districts and states too. For senators, this benefit has a pretty high cap - up
to 8,200 square feet. The CRS report said there is "no restriction" on the
number of offices they can open in federal buildings in their home states. Plus
senators get to shop at the equivalent of Congress' IKEA -- furniture supplied
through the Architect of the Capitol. Every senator gets $40,000 -- and
potentially more -- for furniture in their home-state offices.

Bonus Tax Deduction: Members of Congress can deduct up to $3,000 for expenses
while outside their home districts or states.

Insurance/Retirement: All members of Congress can sign up for the same health
plan and life insurance policy available to other federal workers. But there's
more. In an age when the 401(k) often becomes a substitute for a pension,
representatives and senators enjoy access to both. First, members of Congress
can sign up for a 401(k)-style "Thrift Savings Plan," a tax-deferred investment
in which members' contributions are matched up to 5 percent.

Then there's Social Security. Then there's the pension plan. The pension
payments and eligibility vary -- in a nutshell, members are eligible for an
immediate, full pension at age 62 if they've served five years or more; they're
eligible at age 50 if they've served 20 years; and they're eligible at any time
after they've served 25 years. The annual amount of the pension depends on a
lawmaker's salary and the number of years he or she served -- typically the
amount is considerably less than a lawmaker's outgoing salary. "

NJ Gov. Chris Christie Schools NBC Reporter David Gregory

It was worth a laugh. It bugs me out, too, when reporters in the liberal media frame things in the manner of Democrat talking points.

I'm talking about David Gregory's interview with NJ Gov. Chris Christie. Invariably--that means all the time...:)-- MSM reporters mention that extending the Bush tax cuts must "still be paid for." This little positional phrase implies that Republicans favor passing some new tax cut. No, we favor maintaining the tax status quo.

Christie whupped up on Gregory, who looked a little pale when the Gov. gave him the blunt Jersey Boy treatment. Chris Christie was only pointing out what was obvious. Raising taxes, as the Democrats want to do if they don't extend the cuts, is a counter-stimulus during this Great Recession, something that will march back the Federal Reserve's attempts at stimulating the economy through QE.

It's kind of weird, too, to see Gregory stuck on this track when Obama's supporters have conceded it would be stupid to raise taxes now. Goes to show you how habituated they are to following the Dem Party game plan.

Opinion: Pleased that Pennsylvania has returned to a multi-party system - Yahoo! NewsHow quickly things move in the age of communication. America voted only two days ago and yet the news of the Democrats' defeat seems already old. If a person made a list of things which went wrong two days ago for Democrats and Progressives, you would have to include one item that appears on the list of things that went right for President Obama in 2008: the mainstream media.

The big push for Republicans came when network and cable news shows like MSNBC and CNN discovered that the Tea Parties were the sine qua non enabling them to paint Republicans as a bunch of wild-eyed, right-wing racists. With the advent of Tea Party demonstrations around the country, the mainstream media's daily bombardment could have flattened a small country. Shortly thereafter, the game was up for Democrats, though it would be a long time before they noticed.

Pennsylvania's Marcellus Shale tax issue unresolved - Yahoo! NewsAside from federal taxes, Pennsylvanians pay sales taxes, income taxes, municipal taxes, property taxes, head taxes, vehicle taxes, state liquor store taxes, cell phone taxes and cable television taxes -- to name just a few. Now, Gov. Ed Rendell and state Democrats are trying to push a new energy tax onto a new Pennsylvania industry at a time when many Pennsylvanians are unemployed.

Some Republicans also support taxing the energy industry, which is buying lease contracts for natural gas extraction from the Marcellus Shale deposits, an expanse of porous rock that spans several states. But Republicans have proposed a lower tax rate.

Before a compromise agreement could be worked out, Pennsylvania Republicans were blindsided by the lame-duck Gov. Rendell, who announced in a press release that bipartisan talks about taxing the energy companies drilling for natural gas in Pennsylvania's were dead. The governor said that "...the refusal of Senate and House Republicans to negotiate in good faith on terms of a promised natural gas severance tax has killed the effort to enact it into law this year."

Desperate Democrats Aim Cheap Shots at Republican Candidates

Democrat Party flaks are taking cheap shots in their desperation move to salvage a failed Obama administration. The economy couldn’t be worse, joblessness is at an all time high, and the Obama policies have made things worse. Instead of coming up with a plan, the plan has been to campaign against George Bush (remember him?) and to justify the trillion dollar Obama giveaway stimulus by saying it kept the economy from falling off a cliff. News flash—it has fallen off a cliff and that trillion was largely wasted.

David Axelrod, an Obama political hack who works for whomever pays his tab, is questioning the source of some money coming into the Republican campaign.

This while Democrats have raked in at least 10 million dollars from foreign PACS without disclosing where the money came from. Obama’s Muslim pals contributed heavily during his 2008 campaign, expecting the U.S., under Obama’s leadership, to retreat from its support of Israel. That foreign money seems to have been well spent as the Obama administration pressures Israel to make concessions. In a heinous snub, Obama also made Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu enter and exit the White House through the back door.

You’d have to be daft in failing to understand why the Obama administration has received so much foreign money. I mean, if you were a terrorist, would you have voted for George Bush? If you were Ahmadinajad, would you have voted for John McCain?

The cheap dollar helps American exports, they say, but American companies aren’t hiring and unemployment continues to increase to record levels. Tim Geithner was one of about 200 economists who think Obama's cheap dollar policy is hurting America.

Blumenthal's Lie About Vietnam Service Discredits Vietnam Veterans

There's something about Democrats and the Vietnam War that leads to long noses. Michael Blumenthal lied about his Vietnam Service, doing a tremendous injustice to real Vietnam Veterans. Worse, Blumenthal's apologies are unclear and he continues to rely on duplicitous lawyerly semantic statements to justify his lies.

This says a lot about character. You can expect Blumenthal to similarly play fast and loose with the truth should he get into office in the Connecticut race. If Blumenthal wants to salvage his honor, the right thing to do would be to withdraw from the race. Maybe there's some reality series or game show he can do--like Elliot Spitzer.

Use of the term in politics was meant to deprecate and discredit Tea Party participants. The Democrat agenda was to convince America that tea party activists were either depraved or racist.

Obama and public schools have an ambivalent relationship

Obama and public schools have an ambivalent relationship Change did come to the D.C. school as the hard-charging Harvard educated daughter of Korean immigrant parents fired teachers, removed principals, and carved the educational bureaucracy into a streamlined success-oriented educational army of shock troops. When Michelle Rhee fired hundreds of teachers, she told a Fast Company Magazine interviewer that she had fired teachers who had hit students, were chronically absent from the classroom, and had sex with students. Later, Rhee acknowledged that only one fired teacher had sex with a student.

The contrived issue of Meg Whitman’s alleged hiring of an illegal immigrant may or may not have originated with the Jerry Brown campaign. However, since constitutional protections against the presumption of guilt are so often not applied to political “journalism,” can we presume that the Jerry Brown – Gloria Allred campaigns are low-down, dirty, and need to curtail their toxic emissions? That would be climate change you can believe in.

Pennsylvania Governor's Debate: Tom Corbett v. D. Onorato

Watching the gubernatorial debate, I noticed that Corbett's opponent, D. Onorato, looks like an old-time undertaker. Perhaps, they put too much makeup on him for the TV lights but he looked ghoulish.

Maybe the undertaker look is appropriate for Onorato.
Because of the tax increases he's supported, Onorato is the Undertaker of the current dead economy.

Also worthy of embalming is Onorato's opposition to tort reform.
Pennsylvania doctors are being driven out of the state at a rapid rate. Of those who remain, their insurance premiums are way too high, and those costs are passed off into the medical care treatment system.

Voting for Onorato is voting for higher business taxes and looming individual tax increases even for people of modest means. A family of four earning $50,000 per annum will get a tax increase of $2500 per year when Bush's tax cuts expire under today's Democrats.

Onorato wants Washington to bail out the state of Pennsylvania after PA defaults on its loans from the Obama administration. Here's another way to deal with PA debt: stop spending.

Daily Kos Endorses Slippery Slate: Chris Coons, Jack Conway, Scott McAdams

You don't want to know. When they're not sitting cross-legged, huddled over, and staring at their navels, the Daily Kos crowd sends out what it calls an
"Orange to Blue" Questionaire.

Apparently all three candidates noted above are clueless enough to get the Daily Kos stamp of Imprimatur. According to the Daily Koo-koo, Coons, Conway, and McAdams all need money pretty badly and so they checked on the blocks on the Daily Koo-koo checksheet they were sent.

What does it take to get on the Daily Koo-Koo financial support list? All three candidates said they'd appeal "don't ask, don't tell," make it a number one priority to regulate greenhouse gasses, another priority to create a path to citizenship for illegal immigrants, amend the 2nd Amendment, and hatch a plan for universal medicaid coverage.

You can see they're right on top of things. But why did the DK need a questionaire for that. Aren't all those things de rigeur for "progressive" lefties running as Democrats?

Warren Buffet Buys Ten Percent of Chinese Auto Maker BYD

Everyone knows that Obama - crats are quite vocal in demonstrating against American companies who "export jobs overseas." Those voices see "globalization" as the enemy and say that Republicans are behind it, much the same way Ahmadinajad says the CIA is responsible for 9-11 attacks.

These old-style "globalization truthers" are blind to the billionaire elites like George Soros and Warren Buffet who are strong Obama supporters. Those same globalization truthers would probably have criticized Colombus for opening up European markets and the eventual colonies in the U.S.

But Warren Buffet is a high profile billionaire and his huge investment in a Chinese Auto company could have been made in an American car company. Oh, I forgot.... it's the U.S. government's job to buy up stock in the American companies (with the glaring exception of FORD MOTOR COMPANY).

Not a peep from the "overseas jobs" demagogues. It must be difficult to be so hypocritical as to ignore friendly Obama billionaires while criticizing globalization.

Barletta Vs. Kanjorski in Pennsylvania House Race

I'm rather disappointed that the national media hasn't picked up on this race. I guess Pennsylvania is not sexy enough. But this race has drama. Barletta nearly defeated Kanjorksi in his second contest against the 12 time Representative. Could the third time be the charm?

It should be. Kanjorski has been in office so long he's growing fur and looking more like a werewolf every time he appears on MSNBC--which is often. The mainstream media has been given its marching orders--help Kanjorski.

There's nothing new about that, though, is there? I'm kind of disappointed that the conservative media hasn't taken up Barletta's cause either. Barletta is an originator, a small town mayor with balls enough to make national headlines when it wasn't so popular to point out there was an ILLEGAL immigrant problem.

That's hardly Lou Barletta's only issue, however. Unemployment is a huge problema and that's because the blue state mandarins prefer welfare and government largesse to job creation. Pennsylvania is hostile to business. Kanjorski pours tons of money into his hometown, and has granted millions of federal dollars to family members, but no one seems to get it.

We're so accustomed to corruption in office that we yawn when a politician is only guilty of nepotism. In much of Pennsylvania, nepotism is the reigning social philosophy.

Barletta does have strong support from conservative groups. He has sincere and simple political ads playing on TV-- as opposed to Kanjorski's old-style smear campaign.

Kanjorki's ads are not ashamed of telling lies, telling them long and often. One example is when he accuses Barletta of "Social Security Privatization." That's Kanjorski imitating Ahmadinajead's canards before the United Nations.

Didn't Obama's health care "reform" bill cut $500 billion from Medicare? That's a fact. Kanjorski isn't much troubled with facts. He was a strong voice for ObamaCare....and for bank bailouts...and car company bailouts...and union welfare...and whatever else will keep him in a job to which he feels he has a lifelong right of entitlement.

Pelosi Can't "Drain the Swamp"--She is the Swamp

This information is old news but it hasn't been mentioned lately and it shouldn't be forgotten:

Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi's home district includes San Francisco . StarKist Tuna's headquarters are in San Francisco , Pelosi's home district. StarKist is owned by Del Monte Foods and is a major contributor to Pelosi. StarKist is the major employer in American Samoa employing 75% of the Samoan work force. Paul Pelosi, Nancy's husband, owned $17 million dollars of StarKist stock.

In January, 2007 when the minimum wage was increased from $5.15 to $7.25,
Pelosi had American Samoa exempted from the increase so Del Monte would not have to pay the higher wage. This would make Del Monte products less expensive than that of its competitors. Pelosi was protecting her own pile of money, her first concern as an a member of the California moneyed Democrat elite.

When the huge bailout bill was passed, Pelosi added an earmark to the final bill adding $33 million dollars for an "economic development credit in American Samoa."

A Day of Protests - Slide Show - NYTimes.com

A Day of Protests - Slide Show - NYTimes.comThe New York Times photographers took some interesting photos of yesterday's protests at the United Nations. I like the ones about Iran.... numbers 1 and 2....and the one demonstrating against the number of political dissenters hanged by the Iran regime....

Stocks Rise on Prospect of Republican Takeover

Funny that the only optimism coming from Wall Street these days is the prospect of the Republicans taking over the HOuse and making big gains in the Senate. The Democrats know this and are spending a great deal of money for ads countering this dynamic.

Democrat Party ads nearly ALWAYS mention Republicans are the "party of Wall Street," a boring canard which has been obediently chanted by Democrats in every election since the days of the Robber Barons.

Obama took more money from Wall Street than anyone ever did. His political coffers were filled by liberal millionaires and supporters like Bill Gates and Warren Buffett. Obama bailed out the banks, the insurance companies, and Wall Street firms, picking and choosing which ones would thrive and which ones would fail to survive.

No matter what Obama did, no matter how much stimulus, stocks fell, unemployment rose, and people lost confidence. The only thing that's brought the market up in the last week or so has been the mantra that the Democrats will lose and Republicans will be able to stop the hemmorhaging of money which has resulted in a 14 trillion dollar deficit.

Obama is not really Obama, but no one seems to know who he is. Nancy Pelosi's broom seems to have run out of fuel, and Harry Reid is probably secretly cheering for himself to lose so that he can get out of an increasingly embarrassing position.

Meanwhile, those parachutes which you see in the daytime sky are those of Obama's economic advisors--all taking a powder--Summers, Orzag, Roemer...and then some!

Iran's Dictator A-jad Stinks Up the United Nations

Massive protests marked the appearance of Iran's psychopath Ahmadinajead at the United Nations. Thousands of people showed up to denounce I-jad as the killer, holocaust denier, and 9-11 conspirator that he is. But then again, A-jad is just the sort of person you expect to see while strolling in the more tawdry areas of New York--sniveling, cowardly, and furtive as a rat.

The Obama surrender monkeys are shaming America with their egregious insistence on "reaching out" diplomacy. This has provided many occasions for A-jad to insult the civilized world. A-jads thugs are busy right now making nuclear weapons with which they continue to terrorize the world. Considering how many people his thugs murdered during the recent Iranian demonstrations, ultimately suppressing the opposition, A-jad is certainly not the legitimate leader of Iran. But then again, Obama is only continuing the policies of his most shameful predecessors--Jimmy Carter. It was Carter who approved the overthrow of Western Civilization in Iran, and for thanks Carter got the Iranian hostage crisis where Americans were held for umpteen days in blindfolds and paraded in front of TV cameras in a scene that was reminiscent of the Dark Ages.

I"m of two minds when it comes to the location of the United Nations. Mostly, I feel that the United States should cease its support and kick the U.N. to the curb. This is a fanciful notion, I realize, and the realistic part of me acknowledges some vague and idealistic but as yet unrealized purpose in the U.N location in New York City.

Most of the time, though, it seems that the U.N's chief purpose is to denounce Israel and the United States. If we cannot entirely abandon participation in the United Nations, can't we at least put it on a floating barge and put it out to sea?

Progessive Website Peddles Wireless Phone Service

I'm always complaining about the cost of our ATT wireless phone bill but I feel a little better about it now that ATT is being attacked by a "progressive" web site hawking a phone sell competitor named CREDO. The Website I'm referring to is call Alter Nut, or something like that.

So Alter Nut is saying that ATT is the top contributor to the House Tea Party Caucus. That's good with me. Anyone who helps to get rid of Obama and his plutocrat sychophants deserves my support. I'm glad they're giving some of my customer money to a group that promotes independent common sense candidates who are not part of the arrogant presumptuous self-serving entrenched elite who are screwing this country to the wall.

I still think my ATT wireless bill is too high, but now I feel better about it. Plus, the service rarely drops my calls.

Delaware Tea Party Win Rattles Democrats and Republicans As catastrophic weather events often defy our attempts at limiting damage, so is the Tea Party phenomenon a wave which dashes upon all shores. At this late date, a better question to ask might be: “Why are these Tea Party candidates winning?”

The short answer is voter anger. While politicians fiddle, working and unemployed Americans feel they are being pushed into hell in a hand basket. Cap-and-trade, runaway stimulus, Obamacare, and the entrenched entitlement arrogance of a privileged political class have caused an outbreak of popular resistance that hasn’t been seen for a long time.

Top Ranked News: September 7, 2010

I don’t know how many days we are into the Obama administration. Too many. As much as I think Obama’s vying with Jimmy Carter for the title of America’s Worst President, I don’t blame the brother for trying to get over. What I can’t get over is that the U.S. is full of so many idiots, with the most idiots being the chumps who voted for Obama.

African-Americans have a bit of an excuse, though their vote was equally stupid. Having an African-American president may brighten the eyes of little black children, but that’s the limit of it. The black vote was blind to everything except color. Not to say there weren’t any qualified black candidates, but Obama was the worst one anyone could have selected. I was thinking Colin Powell who, inexplicably, supported Obama. At least Powell worked his way up from Bronx. No one doubts his patriotism or service to America.

Obama’s a wuss,. Some have called him an “Erkle” but that’s not doing justice to Erkle. I’d rather have Erkle as president than Obama.

Anyway, now comes Obama’s New Stimulus Plan for 50 billion. Too late, Obama—that’s putting lipstick on a pig (your own misogynistic expression re Sarah). Obama’s relying on the famous American tendency of people to forget yesterday.
Obama killed America’s economy with his near trillion dollars stimulus plan. Unemployment got worse. They come up with some jive-ass shit about “saving jobs.” Listen, no one gives a shit about “saved jobs” except Joe Biden and the other people who tripped and fell on Obama’s dick.

I’m counting the problems Obama has made worse:

A foreign policy of appeasement has got America marching backwards and apologizing for existing. He kisses Russian ass as the Russians screw us regarding Iran. Foreign policy weakness and lack of vision lead to War with Iran.
Fancy Man Obama favors “Beer Summits” to rational law enforcement and is so clueless he makes impassioned pleas on behalf of Ground Zero Mosque Nazis. Pinbrain Eric Holder wants to try KSM in New York—what an A-hole!

Obama and Holder, the Gay Twin Demons of Failed Law Enforcement, spend even more money suing Sheriff Joe Arpiao, the Governor of Arizona, and Arizona itself.

Obama dishes it out as if he's entitled but he can't take it. Now comes Obama’s latest whining plaint that “people treat me like a dog.” Oh, puhleeeeeze! It’s about time the president stopped acting like a little bitch and grew up. That’s the kind of crap you hear in the 8th grade (not even). President Bush was slimed beyond belief and you never heard so much as a grunt or groan of complaint coming from him. The liberal left said disgusting things about him, whereas all the media, including the conservative media, has been overly deferential to Obama.

It’s as if the president has regressed instead of learned how to be president. I mean, we knew he had no experience, no clue, no leadership ability. We elected him because a bunch of guilty liberals launched into paroxysms of 60s nostalgia.

How Barack Obama Became Mr. Unpopular - Yahoo! News

How Barack Obama Became Mr. Unpopular - Yahoo! NewsHere's a refreshing article. It's big news when the MSM notices that a growing number of Obama voters are EXTREMELY disappointed with the guy they voted for.

Still, I wonder how they bought into the entire hype in the first place. This is TIME magazine, fer chrissake'!

Here We Go Again With Mideast Peace Dance: Obama's Turn

The Obama Mideast Dog and Pony Show is happening today. I feel sorry for the Israelis, having to go through the motions yet one more time. Sheikh Obama has stuck his butt as far out in the direction of the Muslim countries as anyone possibly could, and the only democracy in the Middle East must endure it all and then "come to the table" every time an American politician wishes to take media center stage to impress their left wing internationalist friends.

Enter Hamas, guns blazing away at Jewish pregnant women and Israeli civilians driving down the road. Hamas executed four Israeli civilians in cold blood. What idiot couldn't set up a roadside ambush to kill pregnant women and civilians. The Hamas gunners shot up the car and killed the backseat passengers in the first barrage, but they had to go up close to kill the people in the front seat.

These people are not condemned by Daisy and Imam Rauf, who wish to build a mosque at Ground Zero to commemorate an Al Qaeda slaughter of civilians. But that's not to stray from the subject, the subject being the absurdity of Obama's "Peace Talks." The peace talks are with Abbas, Great Fartah Leader, who only represents one armed gang with very limited control and authority over what happens in the West Bank and Gaza.

You remember, Gaza, don't you? HOw's that workin' out fer ya'? Gaza is just another launching pad for the Muslim Brotherhood.

So what can we expect from this charade? Certainly, Sheikh Obama will need to present the narrative that there has been some "progress." You will hear praise from Olbermann, Maddow, and Matthews and others of the MSNBC Taliban. Inevitably, the Israelis will be shown as stubborn and recalcitrant, frustrating any peace efforts.

But just remember the last time, when Jews trusted that the civilized world would not permit such atrocities as those that occurred at hundreds of concentration camps and Jewish ghettoes. Many Jews, at that time, were trusting and helpful--not realizing the world cared so little about them.

Taking a soft line with Hamas and Hizbollah, "reaching out" to the "Palestinians," describing Israel as an "occupier"...those things are reminiscent of Lord Chamberlain.

Who on the Palestinian side can stop the terror attacks? Who on the Palestinian side can outlaw political-religious psychotics like those who murdered four civilians a few days ago? The question meets with silence.

So there is no "peace partner." Abbas wants power. Hamas and similar nazi groups want to destroy Israel and murder all Israelis. Sheikh Obama wants to prop up his political profile.

Cynical? Not by the long shot. The first step in the peace process is to call a spade a spade, something that has yet to be done.

Iran Shows Off Unmanned, Long-Range Bomber | News | English

Iran Shows Off Unmanned, Long-Range Bomber | News | EnglishIf you're wondering how Obama's policies of "engagement" were working out, you might like to read this article. The first step Obama takes in any "decision" is to put off the decision by at least a year, giving Nazi spawn like Ahmadinajad much time to threaten, menace, degrade, and insult people around the world, especially Israelis and Americans.

How long did "sanctions" take? About a year and a half--after negative results from Obama's "engagement" policies. Another Obama "engagement" policy concerned Russia, a country which successfully pressured Obama to keep missiles out of Eastern Europe. And what did the U. S. get from Russia in return? Zilch--unless you think "engagement" means a bunch of weak sanctions and Russian involvment in the Iranian nuclear industry.

Obama should decline to run for a second term. Actually, he should abdicate on his first term. Maybe Leon Panetta could take over--he's not as bad as I first imagined. At least he has the nuts to stand up to Obama.

What kind of bond rating will it get? Triple DDD? That might be okay if it were bra size but, as financing goes, it's completely irresponsible, reckless, and deceptive. It's very easy for these people, who won't condescend to live in shabby Monroe County, to put the tax hooks into us.

The releases thus far have served as a blueprint for Taliban and Al Qaeda to mark coalition troops and cooperative Afghanis for death.

Under the U.S. Constitution, the U.S. cannot prosecute WikiLeaks or Julian Assange for publishing the information. What it can and should do, however, is determine whether and/or to what degree Wikileaks contributed to the theft of classified information. Theft of classified information IS illegal and can be prosecuted, so if the WikiLeaks worm squad actively aided obtaining the classified materials, they can and should be prosecuted.
Force protection is of utmost importance, and we need also to protect the Afghanis who were compromised by release of the classified documents.

MSNBC V. Fox News: Blow by Blow Coverage - Associated Content - associatedcontent.com

MSNBC V. Fox News: Blow by Blow Coverage I get a great kick out of the criticism Fox News faces everywhere on the blogs and in print media. Most ridiculous is that the rancor directed at the Fox News organization is apoplectic, irrational, and outsized. Fox regularly features center left-liberals Juan Williams, Susan Estrich, Mara Liasson, Kristin Powers, and others on its news programs. The nearest opposite to Fox News is competitor and NBC division MSNBC. It’s as rare to see Republican or conservative ideas given fair treatment on MSNBC as it is to find water in the Kalahari.

AP Exclusive: New al-Qaida leader knows US well - Yahoo! News#mwpphu-post-form

AP Exclusive: New al-Qaida leader knows US well - Yahoo! News#mwpphu-post-formI'd heard of this man before, but Yahoo News just wrote an interesting update. I wonder if Shukrijumah's "green card" will be revoked or whether he will fall under President Obama's planned amnesty. Oooops, I just past the borderline there, sorry! So Un-PC! I really must be more enlightened.

We must strive to prove to Sheik Omar and UBL that we are all about religious and personal freedom even if Islam is just the opposite. I say we should set up an office headquarters for Shukrijumah in the new planned mosque at Ground Zero in New York City. Janet Napolitano is looking into it now, I understand.

Obama Touts Ford Hiring as Proof of Successful Economic Policies

President Obama is touring a new Ford assembly plant today to tout the hiring of an additional 1200 workers. Don’t count on the President mentioning that Ford is able to increase its market share and hire the 1200 workers on its own dime. GM and Chrysler are owned by us, i.e., Government Motors, while Ford still did things the old-fashioned way—independently of government.

Meanwhile, Chrysler and GM are still struggling to rise out of bankruptcy and both have yet to go public—errrr… private. After the taxpayer sponsored bailouts and bankruptcies, the outlook for a GM IPO is weak.

So, Mr. Obama… Will you now tell us how it was your 787 billion dollar stimulus plan which resulted in the hiring of 1200 new Ford workers?

Automotive Industry Financing Program | Eye on the Bailout | ProPublica

Automotive Industry Financing Program | Eye on the Bailout | ProPublicaEveryone's bitching about the banks, deservedly so, but the Chrysler and GM Bailouts accelerated as the Oblama Administration put pedal to the metal with a series of agreements that every business enterprise would like to have. There's not much which has been paid back under government ownership of Chrysler and GM, but we do own lots of stock.

President Oblama is supposed to be giving an address today which will emphasize the "success" of the UAW and GMAC, and GM bailouts but it's not likely to include real numbers. This article shows the current arithmetic, and it's not good. Obama will hopefullly be forthright. It's not until we face that facts that we can climb out of this mess.

Oh, and WHAT A MESS! the next administration will have to handle after the Obama administration fiasco. That will be a big job for the lamestream media to cover up, no matter how hard it works to do so. We're screwed. We can't recover until we hit the bottom. Meanwhile the President O-boo-boo keeps trying to cover up the mess by fresh cash injections compliments of us taxpayer saps.

How Employers Can Verify Work Authorization of Legal Immigrants Through E-verify

It's against U.S. Immigration Law for companies to knowingly hire alien immigrants who do not have USCIS work authorization. Yet, there's a convenient online process which can save employers both money and time in determining whether a prospective employee is a legal alien authorized to work in the U.S. Here's how to use the E-VERIFY program.

Two suspects have been now arrested in the disappearance of 12 year old Amber White from the Shreveport-Caddo parish in Louisiana. U.S.D.A Worker Shirley Sharrod Fired Over Racial Discrimination Against White Farmer

This lady is a bit guileless in admitting to the sort of thing that has been going on for a long time in the federal government and elsewhere. Too many people of all ethnicities see their jobs in federal agencies as a means to redressing wrongs both real and imagined. The name of the game in government should be "public service" not "self-service" or prejudice.
