Obama Profits from America's Economic Woes

It’s really a sorry thing that Barack Obama would get a knee-jerk lift from the economic bad news. Such a lift comes at the expense of the facts. Democrats have long pushed sub-prime mortgages on people who could not afford them. And people always blame the president for anything that occurs, not the dominant Democratic congress with its sub-prime approval rating. That is not surprising in a campaign which has much of the media obsessing on opposition to President Bush and Republicans in general. If the left-stream media had even a minute amount of imagination, they would be able to envision a world in which Saddam Hussein was still threatening his neighbors and terrorist Islamic militants were bombing subway trains while being served with subpoenas.

Of course, Obama is not too proud to benefit from America’s bad news. He goes around promoting this tide of hopeful optimism, a feeling that any change is positive and the self-delusion that change in itself will improve the economy and resolve all problems. There’s nothing more fatuous than that notion. Cuba got change with Castro. Russia got change with the Stalinists. America got change with the 9-11 attacks.

Even at this late date, the latte Arugulati have not required anything more of Obama than that he pose thoughtfully and recite a few slogans. Perhaps Democrats know that Obama is already figurehead, an empty suit who can be controlled by the usual party apparatchiks who will make up a shadow government.

For now, Obama’s polls are rising and America’s stock is falling. Should the slavish media continue along its path of trying to engineer a media coup d’etat, the country will suffer beyond its wildest dreams.

Obama Calls for Reform While Rezko Begins to Sing

Bad news for Barak Obama is that convicted pal Rezko has been seen making visits to the prosecutor's office from the Metropolitan Jail. This happens prior to sentencing on Rezko's conviction. The Feds acknowledge they have enough for further indictments, and Obama has to be nervous about the number of times his name has come up in connection with the prosecution. Don't worry, Barak--the liberal press is still hypnotized with your dipthongs and erudite diction, even if you are reading from prepared scripts. Your comments on the day of Rezko's guilty verdict are memorable if only for its vapidity:

I’m saddened by today’s verdict. This isn’t the Tony Rezko I knew, but now he has been convicted by a jury on multiple charges that once again shine a spotlight on the need for reform. I encourage the General Assembly to take whatever steps are necessary to prevent these kinds of abuses in the future.

Gasparino Blasts Harry Reid on Economic Comments

I'll make this short. CNBC's Charlie Gasparino let Hrry Reid have it with both barrels for his highly political comments on the station which blamed John McCain for the economic trainwreck. Now that's a way to get Republicans on your side for passage of the Bailout Bill. Why don't they just pass it anyway? The Republicans hold only 200 seats and the issue would pass easily. Fact is, Congressional Democrats have no accountability and no courage of conviction. Dodd and Reid and Frank need to put up or shut up.

Gasparino is the kind of two-fisted journalist we need, and he didn't hesitate to mention Chris Dodd and Barney Franks as the "Fanny-Freddie-Mae enablers" that they are.

Of course, there are people who don't want to hear the plain facts. It's gotten so that the public expects and prefers euphemism. Not so with Charlie G as he hammered Chief Democratic bedwetter Harry Reid.

Honda Civic GX Runs on Natural Gas

But where do you fill it up?

Great ideas aren’t the ones most often chosen by consumers, especially when they come with a hefty price tag. The Honda Civic GX runs on natural gas but the trick is to find a gas station. You can either drive to one of the 1100 natural gas refueling stations in the U.S. or you can run out. A better option might be to install a refilling unit at your home at a cost of around $5,000 or so.

The Honda Civic GX looks like the gasoline powered Civic and some people don’t like that. Some people want the distinctive look of the Toyota Prius, a car that looks to me like a chopped off egg. I’d much prefer the lines of the classic Civic road runner, especially if you’re going to do without the full-throated muffler treatment. A regular Civic costs in the range of 17,000 dollars while the GX natural gas powered vehicle costs around 25,000.

It’s not likely that the U.S. will be building more natural gas stations since most American’s can’t afford to buy the car. The way things are going, most Americans won’t be able to afford a bicycle. This leaves the brilliant and much desired Honda Civic GX to be the car of Hollywood liberals and Northeastern Ivy League elites who will gladly trade in their Volvos. I would, too, but I can’t afford the obligatory Birkenstock sandals.

McCain or Obama: Who's Better at Multi-tasking?

These are A-4 Skyhawks, the kind of fighter-bomber John McCain flew in Vietnam. I"m sure a veteran multi-tasker like Obama could "multi-task" on the controls but I"m not so sure the plane would stay in the air.

Barak Obama made another political gaffe when he used cyber terminology to chide John McCain for saying the debate in Washington by the Joint Economic Committee was more important than the Debate Theatre scheduled for national television. The term he used was “multi-tasking.” Ooooh! That causes my heart to skip a beat.

Obama said a president should be able to “multi-task.” Does flying an A-4 Skyhawk qualify? Does saying one thing in Pennsylvania and another in San Francisco involve “multi-tasking.” Gee whiz…. No doubt Obama’s buzzed because he crammed so hard for the exam and now worries about being unable to deliver the lecture. Such is the Obama rhetoric: multi-tasking.

I wonder if Warren Buffett was multi-tasking when he referred to the financial crisis as an “economic Pearl Harbor.” That should give Obama a clue, but the man doesn’t respond to clues. I would add my own analogy if Congress fails to act quickly; I would call it a Congressional Bubonic Plague.

Now Obama is waiting for others to pass the JEC plan and then he will follow suit and pretend that he was for it all the time. Multi-tasking again.

Kanjorski Announces Joint Economy Committee Success

Rep Paul Kanjorski appeared this a.m. on CNBC's Sqawk Show with Joe Kernan, Becky Quick, and Carlos Quintanilla to announce that Democrats and Republicans had a "done deal" in Washington. This is not yet the "offical news" but Kanjorski was smiling broadly and appeared relieved. While our local Pennsylvania newspapers made much of Kanjorski's "skepticism" about a deal, the congressmenperson (sic) appeared to be in a waiting line for an ascension to heaven.

Joint Economic Committee: Action Now, Pandering Later!

"You don't have to be a weatherman to tell which way the wind blows," said Bob Dylan.

Good for John McCain. He cancelled the Debate Theatre (my God, the sky will fall!) Who needs to hear some staged political crap from people who want to get elected while Rome burns? Obama’s whining as usual because he’s spent so much time cramming for the exam. But Obama was offered to have all the debating he wanted in a town hall atmosphere that couldn’t be scripted or staged and he consistently refused. John McCain wanted Town Hall style one-on-one with Obama since the beginning but Obama doesn’t like that kind of format. Who can blame Obama for that? He’s a loser on substance.

Okay, let’s tell the truth. Much of the American public doesn’t understand the particulars of the financial crisis. Congressmenpersons (sic) are facing elections themselves and are more concerned with looking good than fixing the economy. Congress really doesn’t know how to fix the economy, but they have bonafide geniuses in Paulsen and Bernanke. Of course, they’re Wall Street Demons, not to be trusted! Instead, let’s trust Schumer who wants to partition the economy remedies proposed by parceling it out penny at a time. Or let’s trust Dodd or Barney Franks who got us into this mess by consorting with their investment banker pals in the sub-prime mortgage giveaway.

Now, drastic steps are needed. I don’t like it. You don’t like it. But this needs to be done! Action now, pandering later!

Obama Spanks Biden

They're chummy in this picture, even as rumors continue to swirl that Biden will resign from the campaign. But Biden has become the predictable liability with his recognition that Hillary was the better VP choice, and that Obama runs dirty campaign ads, and engages in counterproductive cheerleading episodes as when he exhorted a wheelchair bound support to "Stand up, Chuck....Stand up!"

Obama had to step in to give the aging white guy a political "wedgie", telling him essentially to get a grip. I'm sure Obama's kicking his own butt at not choosing Hillary as running mate.

McCain Tells Obama to Cancel the Campaign BS

John McCain gets it that America faces a real crisis, the like of which has been rarely seen. He called Obama's people and told them he's flying back to Washington to keep abreast of what's going on with the Joint Economic Committee.

Obama was taken by surprise, and now Obama and his memorized script for the "debate" hangs in limbo. He agreed, though. How could he do anything else?

Chris Dodd and Senator Shelby

There were some high moments and low moments at the Joint Economic Committee hearings. One of the low moments was provided by Senator Chris Dodd of Connecticut, posing with studiously "knitted brow" even while he took lower than market rate interest loans from pal and Countrywide Bank CEO Angelo Mozilo. Countrywide Bank was a chief subprime lender until it went bankrupt in the current credit fraud crisis. Mozilo was a big Democratic party contributor who made millions from pushing loans to people who couldn't afford to pay them back. It pays to have Congressional connections though. When Countrywide found out it had all that dead money and soured loans sitting on its balance sheet, who did it go to? Democrats like Jim Johnson, Frank Raines, and Jame Gorelick, all of whom were grateful to take the bad paper and repackage it into "attractive" commercialized debt obligations or "CDOs".

That's Alabama's Senator Shelby on the right. He asked some serious questions, without prancing around. Congress should drill down into the facts but the Chairmanperson (:)) should tell some of those people prating about all and sundry and politics as usual to just shut up.

Bernanke and Paulsen Suffer Fools Gladly

The Joint Economic Committee hearings have provided some redundant revelations. There’s politics going on down there in Congress. The idea I’m trying to convey is best represented by the well-known Senator Charles Schumer of New York. With the economic markets frozen solid, and the cameras trained upon him, Schumer always has time to play “Champion of the People.” He does this most often at the expense of the “people,” as he did today when he questioned the 700 billion dollar “bailout” program.

Yeah, I know! It’s the job of congress to protect the people’s money. It’s a little too late for that. Congress has been protecting “the little people” even while the wheels have come off the wagon and the horses have jumped off a cliff. Don’t the members of Congress have television sets at home? Or newspapers? It’s not as if any of this is hot news. The “stimulus package” couldn’t wake them up, either. Fact is, the Congress is just so much dead wood, except that you can burn dead wood, giving it some usefulness. Yet Congress just turns around and burns us, giving us incomprehensible babbling, part bromide and part bumper sticker. Did Schumer or any of his even less-informed brother asses ever hear of derivatives, credit-default swaps, hedge funds?

So now the members of Congress must grill Ben Bernanke and Henry Paulson as if, yes, they really are in control of the government’s pursestrings. All I heard from Schumer was stupidity. Schumer had this idea of portioning the 700 bn asked for in “tranches.” His use of the term was malappropriate although he was trying to impress. “Tranche” is French, meaning “slice,” and is an specific investment activity with little connection to the dead-stop debt economy.

Believe me, the “little people” have nothing to gain by having Congress watching over their money, unless they want their finances monitored by proven idiots. Such were the questions posed to Paulsen and Bernanke that only that conclusion could be drawn. The best part of the proceedings was watching Bernanke and Paulsen controlling their faces while they listened to such uninformed idiocy. Paulsen appeared earnest. Bernanke appeared bemused. But both were clearly contemptuous, wondering perhaps how such mediocre intellects could have risen to such positions of power.

These Joint Economic Committee hearings are now spinning out of control, with many congress members pretending to ask sharp questions about things they don’t know to begin with. The best among the questioners at least admit that they don’t know. Others, like Schumer, regard the hearings as a political opportunity to score election points. Several members were permitted to expound at length on “the Bush administration policy.” Now that shows brilliance, doesn’t it? Gee, I thought Congress wrote the laws. And I thought Congress could have conducted hearings BEFORE the crisis unfolded. And I thought Congress could have initiated and led the activity. But not if its comprised of a bunch of economic dolts!

Washington Post Composes Paen to Obama's Anti-Gun Stance

The Washington Post continues serving as Barack Obama's jock strap caddy in trying to ameliorate Obama's anti-gun image with the public. Obama's anti-gun image happens to be a very accurate one but leave it to the Washington Post to find a hair out of place so that they can pontificate about evils of the NRA. The anti-gun people are mostly frightened of themselves, supposing they would go mad at the smell of gunpowder and start firing indiscriminately into crowds (probably at Republicans).

You never hear the liberal elite talk about taking guns out of the hands of the gangsters. Two cops were killed in Philadelphia today. Were they killed by NRA members? The violence happened in Kensington, a North Philadelphia neighborhood I've visited a few times to attend boxing matches. It's rough up there. The gangster boys have the latest weapons. Does Barak Obama go up there with his Secret Service detail and talk to them about giving up on violence and guns? I suppose that's beyond his pay grade as a "community organizer." Anti-gun legislators like Obama are only interested in the vote; they could care less that the gangstas in neighborhoods like North Philly roll with Mac 10s, Glock 19s, AKs, and AR-15s. Do gun control up there, Obama! Responsible gun owners arent' interested in doing anything with their guns except hunting, sporting, and protecting themselves. Police powers are very limited in protecting you from those who would do you harm. The police can't do anything for you until your door has been kicked down and some thug is standing on your chest holding cold steel to your head.

So the Washington Post criticizes an NRA ad that contains some old news about Obama. That's just another discussion of the number of angels which would fit on the end of a pin. Obama's anti-gun position is a long-standing one. He may adjust his language, as he does with most things, but he needs the support of the liberal elite. Being anti-gun pays big vote dividends among liberal elitists. The pathetic tragedy of it all is that the average fellow or woman cannot defend themselves against what one rapper calls "the Glocks in the Co-Ops". Obama and the Washington Post should expend their efforts in getting fully automatic pistols and rifles from the gangsters who freely roam South Side Chicago "strapped". Obama's anti-gun platform is pablum for the effete, most of whom live in gated communities.

Obama needs to stop playing everybody and get real.

Washington Post Reporters Sucks Up to Biden (again)

The latest idiocy in the Washington Post is when a reporter named Glen Kessler asked Joe Biden's office for a list of world leaders Biden has met so that he could compare that with Sarah Palin. The Washington Post actually used ink and trees for such a useless endeavor.

Now what would induce a "news reporter" to ask for a list of the number of world leaders Biden has met with? And then to compare with Palin--absurd! Left to Biden, Saddam Hussein would still be in Kuwait since he voted against the 1st Gulf War. His dumb-assed idea of partitioning Iraq could only lead to a doubly complicated Israeli-Arab style conflict. No matter how many people he's sucked up to, the guy's still an idiot.

What will the Washington Post reporter Glenn Kessler do next? Count how many world leaders the washroom attendant has met under intimate circumstances and then compare that list with Sarah Palin.

Off your knees, Kessler....the Messiah is disgusted with you.

No-Money-Down Democrats Critique Wall Street Bailout

Meanwhile, the Obama Channel (MSNBC) continues to bore with Mika Brezinski biting at Joe Scarborough every chance she gets. Brezinski’s a woman with almost nothing to say—she’s like a comic foil to chief Scarborough. The Obama channel wants to have an absurd conversation about “deregulation” apropos of the regulation-deregulation issue, but the fact is that there are mountains of regulation of the financial markets and Democrats on the Banking and Housing Committees (Chris Dodd – D) never raised a protest until they could make political hay of it. Dodd got cheap and easy loans from bankrupt Countrywide Bank and his pal Angelo Mozilo who walked off with millions before Countrywide’s subprime loan program collapsed. It was congressional Democrats like Barney Frank who decided that everyone should own a home whether they could afford one or not. Just bring a body to the closing, no money needed, and no money down. Call them the “No-Money-Down Democrats.”

Biden Critcizes Obama Campaign Ad

Obama had a lot to say about McCain's disinclination to use a computer but nothing to say when the Russians invaded Georgia. I do think Obama would be better qualified if the presidency were merely a data entry position....

Meanwhile....

An embarrassed Joe Biden thinks the Obama campaign ad criticizing John McCain is "terrible" and something he wouldn't have made. You know the one--the one where some Diggtards make fun of John McCain being unable to use computers. Biden says he never would have done such a scurrilous ad, though he appeared in the ad. He was responding to a question by Katie Currick when he made the remarks.

The reason John McCain does not travel with a slick laptop in an attaché case (as Obama ostentatiously does) is because he has scant use of his left arm, a souvenir of his North Vietnamese captors. I would add that a fighter jet is much like a computer though a bit more complicated. McCain can fly one of those, no one disputes, while Obama can boast that he once “signed up for Selective Service” with a great deal of trepidation.

McCain's a Hero in Scranton, Obama's Not

John McCain’s visit to Scranton PA yesterday had Obama supporters scrambling. People began lining up to see Senator McCain as early as 4:00 a.m. for a 9:30 a.m. appearance, according to WBRE, a local news station. McCain’s popularity in Pennsylvania is simple to explain. In spite of his humility, Senator McCain is a “great man” and Obama is not.

The credibility factor plays heavily into McCain’s support, especially in a state where so many young Pennsylvanians exhibit pride and love of country through military service. Pennsylvania voters are a perspicacious lot, tending to disavow what they perceive as the “phony” representations of Barak Obama.

It doesn’t help that Obama recently attended a swank fund-raising gathering in Nancy Pelosi’s home town of San Francisco and described Pennsylvania voters “bitter and clinging to guns and religion.”

People connected with McCain’s message of reform, and his selection of Sarah Palin as his running mate. The outdoor and fighter jet fuel credentials appeal to the state’s voters more than the Arugula and upscale food markets favored by Obama supporters.

Democrat Bob Casey appeared with a reluctant Governor Rendell, a Hillary supporter, to counteract McCain’s popularity. While Bob Casey has attached his political star to the Obama campaign, Rendell merely does his “duty” as a Democrat in accompanying the egregious and public relations minded Casey.

Obama Is Stoking Racial Antagonism - WSJ.com

Obama Is Stoking Racial Antagonism - WSJ.comIs Barack Obama continuing to play the race-baiting game he says he didn't learn from Reverend Jeremiah Wright? Here's what Rush Limbaugh has to say about it.

Biden's War Cry: Be Patriotic, Pay More Taxes

Leave it to Joe Biden. “Paying taxes is patriotic,” he tells ABC News talking head Kate Snow on “Good Morning, America.” Now the liberal media is in a full-fledged snit clarifying, refining, redefining, confining, underlining what Biden said because Biden needs a lot of such re-defining. It amazes me that there is such sensitivity about the Biden philosophy expressed on the news show. I mean, why bother? The apologists should stick with the line—paying income taxes is patriotic. It’s not likely that libs will be patriotic in the usual ways people have of showing it. Better stick with the Biden battle cry: the more income tax you pay, the more patriotic you are. Liberal sycophants like to point out that Biden was referring to people who made over a certain amount of money per annum, but why deprive the poor and middle class of their patriotism? If paying taxes is indeed patriotism, as Biden says, then everyone should have some of it. If the poor and the lower middle classes didn’t have a generous dose of taxpaying patriotism, then what are we to say about them? That they are not patriotic? We can’t have that, and Obama-Biden won’t.

Obama: ROTC Belongs at Columbia University

One of the positives that came out of the presidential forum held at Columbia University (with Judy Woodruff and Richard Stengel) was that Barack Obama agreed with John McCain that military ROTC (Reserve Officers Training Corps) belongs on the New York City campus of Columbia University.

I don’t know who was in the audience but both candidates got broad cheers when they criticized Columbia for banishing the program from campus. The military officers training program is an honorable calling and it has repeatedly turned out great leaders, some of whom return to civilian life with a better understanding of what it takes to lead.

What was Columbia U. thinking when it banned the ROTC recruitment from campus? That students needed to be sheltered from ideas which did not conform with those of liberal-left professors? If ideas are regarded as viral infections by a major academic institution like Columbia, then the much vaunted “freedom of thought” is a joke.

Both candidates are to be applauded for calling for the return of ROTC to the Columbia campus. Obama’s position on that score should be heeded, and he should repeat his call on other campuses which have followed Columbia’s narrow-minded and onanistic approach. McCain’s daughter graduated from Columbia U., an indication that this is a good time to make things right with the honorable profession of military service.

Obama's Latest Ad Won't Fly

B.O’s latest campaign ad is hilarious—the one where he impugns John McCain’s abilities because he doesn’t email and doesn’t walk around with a computer strapped to his shoulder and Birkenstocks on his feet. Does anyone over there at the Obama campaign have a clue? The message they’re trying to get out is that McCain is old, out of touch, and not computer literate. Not being able to use your left side because his captors busted up his shoulders is not exactly the same thing as being “computer illiterate.” I’m sure McCain knows what a computer is and what a computer does. What’s McCain supposed to do? He’s running for president, not for a data entry position.

I would suggest that the McCain ad campaign respond to this with a photo of McCAin flying an A-4 Skyhawk. What the hell is a fighter-bomber but a sort of computer managed by a vulnerable little human in the cockpit who must multi-task it through a variety of maneuvers which risk one’s life? Landing a 650 mph fighting machine on an aircraft carrier sounds like a lot of deathly fun, too. Aircraft carriers are big when you’re walking on the deck but they have an unfortunate habit of shrinking down to postage-stamp size when you’re desperate to find it in the vast expanse of sea. Can Obama do any of that? Or would he be more comfortable in a data-entry position where he could “text” his executive orders to fellow internet café cabinet members?

Somebody ought to clue in the Obama campaign not to take cheap shots which target McCain’s age or physical damage. There are laws against both, though McCain surely won’t sue. He’s not a lawyer, and neither is running mate, Sarah Palin. I’m sure he’s amused by Axelrod’s naivete, but Obama must be less so.

Jennifer Claims American Women Voting for a Vagina

Someone named Jennifer just posted a remark on my blog which I will quote verbatim:

"The only women who voted for Clinton who would not vote for Obama did not vote for Clinton because of her policies or stances, they did it because she had a vagina."

It was an arresting thought and it got me thinking. Where does such a view come from? A man posing as "Jennifer" and who is an Obama supporter? An Obama supporting woman who sincerely believes that? This view does not come from "conservatives." And then it was inevitable that I'd ruminate on the opposite: For over two hundred years in American, men have been voting for a dick in the White House.

You can read the "Jennifer" post below but that person was talking about the vote for Hillary Clinton. She said that Hillary had no policies, not really, and you know the rest. But the message was clear: "Dont' vote for Sarah Palin" because she has a vagina. Vote for a dick!" It's hilarious, stupid, and also retrograde.

Personally, I find it hard to resist a candidate who lives so far away from Washington or Cook County Chicago politics, can gut a moose or fish and has been buying clothing for her kids in a second-hand clothing store for many years. I expect she won't be hunting any more and the Secret Service guys won't want to set up a security perimeter at the Alaska version of the Good Will store but for a while she was real and real stays with you. I don't agree with 100 percent of anyone, so it would be the same for her.

I expect that John McCAin will be president for the next years, and if not, Sarah Palin will be on the fast-track to the presidency. We like to model after other countries which have had people like Thatcher (grocer's daughter) and Merkel and Tipi Livzi and Golda Meir. I think it's about time the women of America had a chance. 88 years is time enough and I think both Sarah and Hilllary are definitely capable and tough enough, as Clint Eastwood said in one of his films.

GOP Worries in Common with Sirius Left

A black guy called into Lynn Samuels’ show on Sirius Left radio and said that Obama’s choice of VP was the “dumbest ###%@@@#$% damn thing Obama ever did.” He said the choice of Biden just about insured that “nothing would be done” and that the rejection of Hillary just about guaranteed he’d lose the election. Even Joe Biden agrees that Hillary would be a better VP choice than he was. So I guess there is a unifying thread between the two major parties. Maybe it's true as the rumor has it that Biden's going to take a dive.

Another African-American women called in to talk about her tee-shirt making friend. The woman said she’d been ostracized, excoriated, and scorned for her Hillary support. She described herself as one of “three black people” in her neighborhood who were for Hillary Clinton. Not true, protested Samuels. Lots of women were for Hillary but the Obama people were covering it up, says Samuels.

One of the most courageous African-American women to support Hillary even while Hillary’s former supporters scrammed and crawled over to the Obama camp was Rep. Stephanie Tubbs-Jones of Ohio. Tubbs-Jones was a straight up woman and a Democrat with backbone. While the reasons for her death were given as a stroke, and I don’t doubt that, I wonder how much the angry, vindictive, passive-aggressive haranguing Obama supporters had to do with her death.

So Lynn Samuels is my favorite leftist. We have some of the same worries. She asked one caller recently what would happen if a catastrophe hit the White House and Obama and Biden were killed. What?
“That would leave Nancy Pelosi as the president! A nightmare! Nobody in the world would be more horrible than Pelosi!”

Joe Biden: Put up or Shut Up

Love you, mean it... Would the photo op be more of an opportunity with Hillary in the picture?

You’ve got to bust a gut on hearing Joe Biden talking up Hillary Clinton’s qualifications to be vice-president of the U.S. Instead of talking with the press in the hope of applying salve to the female vote, Biden should have been telling Barack Obama to replace him on the ticket. This notion is creating quite an uproar, but not nearly as much as we should see if the replacement were actually to occur.

There are plenty of rumors circulating that Biden will be replaced by Hillary Clinton but such a replacement would have to be accompanied by quite a bit of fakery. Should Obama merely jettison Biden and replace him with Hillary Clinton by announcing he needs the 18 million votes she got, it would be a disaster. The Obama campaign has shown itself to have some expertise in fakery so a Biden replacement is not out of the question. The aging Biden could come up with some sort of health reason for quitting the race, or perhaps some unavoidable domestic duty which requires Biden’s attention.

Most likely, Obama will stay with the garrulous Biden, but he should himself just acknowledge the mistake of not hiring Hillary Clinton rather than put Biden out there to schmooze the women. Women are very perceptive, and ever on the alert for false signals and indications. The only women who would be fooled by Obama-Biden chicanery are the ones who choose to be.

Obama: Now he calls you a phony. And more Pig Methaphors

I’ve never thought Obama was so much a great Orator as he is a good Reader. But I did expect that he would at least try to conduct himself appropriately and distance himself from the low politics of internecine Chicago-style political war. Especially since Obama has no experience of any other kind of war. To be fair, though, Obama tells the story in his biography how he bravely stepped up to register for Selective Service when he came of age. Certainly, heroism of that magnitude demands respect.

But the “lipstick on a pig” comments are unforgivable. Obama was speaking in what feminists call “male code” when he used the metaphor in adjacent context with Sarah Palin’s political activity. Unless Obama’s been living on another planet (and one could make a good case for that), he must be aware of impact of his dumb-assed post-adolescent anti-female semaphore which he now compounds with further insults.

“Enough of that phony stuff,” he says to those who would recognize the cheap smears for what they are.

Well, Obama wants to argue that the pig analogy was appropriate to Great Oratory so I guess he won’t mind people looking at him and thinking “you can’t make a silk purse out of a sow’s ear.” And I guess he wouldn’t mind if I remind voters that Obama is a “pig in a poke,” a person who has tightly controlled the information he so much needs to hide from the public.

Orator Obama Talks Pig Dirt

Geez, I’m worried about Barack Obama being able to take care of those two children while he goes around the country campaigning. Two of them, just count them! It’s a good thing they’ve planned their family so as not to have so many mouths to feed. Mom Michelle must be away at the hospital doing important work in administration. That means the children will be left alone emotionally especially when important presidential duties call. I suppose he could leave most of the important work regarding the children to his wife—that’s how things are traditionally done, and this is especially true in African-American families where the fathers are often absent.

I don’t know if it’s correct to say that Obama’s half of the family is African-American because his mother was a Caucasion, not pure white, but a Caucasian. I don’t know why I’m telling you that—nobody’s 100 percent of anything but it’s possible, I suppose, to claim that you are 92% African-American if 92% of “folks” claiming they are “black” will be voting for you. Personally, I think that’s very weird. But maybe I’m the one who’s weird. I have Lynn Swann, Sarah Palin, John McCain political bumper stickers on my pickup truck.

But Obama wears the pants in that household. Michelle takes care of the kids and has been sending them to private schools while Barack Obama gets support from the public school teacher’s union. Ha—he sure has them fooled. Or everybody else. Actually, Obama doesn’t take any crap from women at all. We all saw how well he handled Hillary Clinton, and now we’re seeing how he’s giving Sarah Palin a beat-down. Ha,ha,ha…. That remark he made about Sarah Palin was really funny and guaranteed to force women to hate themselves and their sex and to see the inferiority in being female. Some “folks” said it was really mean but that’s just Barack when he’s in a kidding mood. He said “You can put lipstick on a pig but it’s still a pig.” Ha,ha,ha…. Women wear lipstick…. Sarah Palin…get it? He was trying to put her back in the mud where he believes all women come from, soiling the clean male Muslim way. Pigs and Muslims don't mix, you know. I think Obama was trying to communicate something secretly with that remark.

But the main thing I’m concerned with is that Barack ought to stay home to take care of the children. He reminds me of my friend Pimp Daddy, always rolling around the city in an Escalade. Smooth criminal is Pimp Daddy. Pimp Daddy has a momma who works and he gives his kids the keys to the house and lots of money so they don’t bother him. Pimp Daddy’s important, too; he’s been a community organizer for even longer than Barack, since the 70s in fact. Well, really Obama wasn’t a community organizer for very long, about 3 years he says, because the people he tried to help just wanted to move away from the mean streets where Obama wanted to help them live. So he went to law school and who took care of the children?

Anyway, lipstick on a pig is what passes for a clever figure of speech for a low-flying clown like Obama. When you’re dealing with Obama, you have to realize you can’t make a” silk purse out of a sow’s ear”. Ha,ha. That’s a good one. Or a president out of a sack of talking pig dirt who knows how to handle women like Alice Palmer in Chicago, or Hillary Clinton, or Sarah Palin from Alaska.

Charles Rangel's Ways and Means Resemble Obama's Ways and Means

Charlie Rangel is being investigated by the House Ethics Committee. Likeable and smart, Rangel is head of the Ways and Means Committee and should understand that he shouldn’t have been the landlord of several rent-controlled New York City apartments. Rent control apartments were meant to help those who could not afford a roof over their head, but the program has been often abused, as many “social service” urban programs are.

Lately, it’s found out that Rangel has a home in the Dominican Republic which produces income which he has failed to report. With an Ethics Committee investigation going on, the “Honorable” Rep. Rangel should resign from the chairmanship of the committee as that business comes under a taint of corruption.

It’s the same lack of judgment showed by Senator Barack Obama in his joint arrangement with a convicted felon’s wife to purchase a fancy mansion in Chicago. Reform is coming and it seems there's a lot of it needed on both sides but particularly in the urban jungles where corruption can most readily hide.

Then there's corruption-light considering that Barney Frank, Chairman of the Banking Committee has been handing out money like a drunken sailor. First of all, it was Barney's boys who pushed houses and money on people who couldn't afford them. Now Barney wants to bail out everyone except those who refused to take the cheap, free, and easy money. Democratic Barneys in Washingnton are ignoring their responsibilities in bailing everyone out. What's worse, Barney Franks got really angry when Neil Cavuto asked him how many more bailouts were on the way. That's the kind of response one gets also from Chris Dodd who got cheap loans via the backdoor of bankrupt Countrywide Bank and from pal and Countrywide CEO Angelo Mozilo.

McCain and Palin need to take a flamethrower to Washington--otherwise it'll only be the taxpayers who get burned. There are way too many people who see government service as a way to make money and set up real estate deals.

Obama Admits to Being "Community Organizer"

Obama decided that being a "community organizer" in Chicago was a dead end job. He soon inflated his tires and went to Harvard Law School.

Wonder of wonders—a New York City newspaper endorsed Republican candidates John McCain and Sarah Palin. Sometimes it’s hard to remember that there is more to New York city than Greenwich Village, the Upper East and West Sides, and the trendy salons of Fifth Avenue. There are real people living in Brooklyn, Queens, and Staten Island. Some of them may even have dirty hands from blue-collar jobs; others may have the odor of fisheries clinging to their workboots as they come back from their jobs. Of course, there is good reason for financial men and women to support the Republican ticket, as they fear Barack Obama’s planned tax increases will be the cement boots of a struggling economy.

The New York Post, of course, is the paper that endorsed McCain-Palin and that was played up in some quarters and downplayed in others. The New York Post also had an article which interested me a great deal. When you hear Barry Obama boasting of his work as a “community organizer,” one can think of all manner of things. The New York Post writer, Steven Malanga, titled his piece “Organizer in Chief.” The “community organizer” term is so vague and all-encompassing that one doesn’t know if it’s good or bad. What is clearly bad about it is that so many “street organizations” are corrupt and self-serving. Pouring money into them is even worse that pouring it down a hole because of the uses to which it is sometimes put. And those many “community organizations” which require “community organizers” often pay themselves huge salaries of taxpayer money with no positive impact whatsoever on the communities they self-serve. In so doing, these organizations besmirch the ones which are truly sincere and selfless in their desire to help those in need. Malanga uses Buffalo New York as an example, a city which is “worse off today than it was 40 years ago” and which has gotten the most “Community Development Block Grant” money of any city in the U.S. The writer-reporter Malanga also reminds Post readers that the “Buffalo News several years ago found that much of the money had been wasted in grants to organization run by politically connected activists.” And voila! There you have Barack Obama and his failed three years as a “ community organizer.” Instead of trailing Sarah Palin around in hopes of tripping her up, the soft propaganda media might want to provide us with more information about what exactly Obama did to help the Chicago South Side community during his three years as a “community organizer” before he jumped ship and headed for the safer environs of law school. I guess that would be when he figured out the “community organizer” gig was a bust instead of a buffer for his resume.

Obama Forgets McCain: Runs Against Palin

Senator Obama seems to be making a career of running against female candidates. For the fifth time in five days, Obama or his spokespersons have attacked Sarah Palin with many of the same barbs he aimed at Hillary Clinton during the primaries.

Perhaps, the Rock Star of Berlin is a little lonely, speaking to only 800 people at the Wabash Valley Fairgrounds in Terre Haute, Ind. Someone should tell Obama that he’s running against John McCain and not the Alaskan governor. It’s kind of funny, really. You wave a woman at Obama and he charges. Well, sort of…. Sometimes he just sort of flutters along on wind power and flapping gums….

In fact, Obama’s attacks on Alaska show how just how far removed he is from rural America and how much his scant experience of government is drawn from Chicago’s inner circle. In attacking Palin, the Chicago one-term senator complained about federal monies going to Alaskan fisheries. Does the senator realize that fisheries are an important part of Alaska’s economy? Most likely, he thinks Salmon is mined somewhere in Pennsylvania by “bitter people clinging to guns and religion.”

Obama also complained about upgrades of Alaska’s numerous rural airports, necessary to reach the remote regions of America’s largest state. That’s understandable, considering that Obama’s idea of an airport is O’Hare and the longest wilderness hike he’d ever take is on the people mover going from terminal A to terminal B.

Of course, those women sure do know how to spend the money, don’t they? Always asking for a man’s damn hard-earned money! He’d nix federal grants to combat drug trafficking in Alaska, too, since it couldn’t be possible there would be any serious drug-dealing in the boondocks and harbors of Alaska. Nope, he’d rather pour money down a hole in Detroit where the guy he described as “the best Mayor Detroit ever had” pleaded guilty to felony charges in covering up his firing of police officers investigating him.

Sarah Palin and John McCain: The Other Team Takes the Field

Said Steve Schmidt, a senior advisor to the McCain campaign, in an email to reporters:
"This vetting controversy is a faux media scandal designed to destroy the first female Republican nominee for vice president of the United States. This nonsense is over."

David Axelrod and Barack Obama must have been poring over the Chicago Dirty Politics Playbook when they tried to sink Sarah Palin before she could set out to sea. Rumor is that they were harkening back to the Dan Quayle torpedoing which happened some years ago. But they had no such luck with the Barracuda, who slipped quietly into the national waters and left with her mouth full of Obama Party flesh.

Obama’s handlers could only appeal to their Democrat friends in the media to raise issues of a “vetting controversy.” That’s hilarious coming from a party which hasn’t “vetted” its long-time presidential nominee yet. The liberal press has shown itself to be a reliable ally of the Obamanites, and can be expected to piously avert its eyes to whatever unpleasant sights remain behind in Obama’s rise in Chicago.

There is a bit of tarnish which clings to Obama’s campaign and it will be hard to shake. This is the first time that Obama has actually faced an opponent. His early success in Illinois state depended upon a litigious procedural challenge against the party incumbent. Obama challenged the signature process of his opponent and got “her” off the ballot. In the Congress of the United States, Obama ran against a forfeit as the Republican went down into flames of scandal. Essentially, Obama is a first timer with no executive experience. He can run the football upfield to the end zone but only when the other team hasn’t yet taken the field.

Would a President Obama Measure Up to a Vice President Palin?

MSNBC, widely known as the “Obama Channel” often shoots itself in the foot by learning too far in the direction of their favorite guy. So it was this morning when, channel flipping, I watched a clip of Barack Obama responding to a reporter’s question. Typical reaction shot, the reporter had asked about Obama’s reaction to Sarah Palin’s sudden popularity.

“Keep in mind,” said Obama, “that she’s (can’t bring himself to say her name) been involved in this for four days. I’ve been doing this for 19 months.”

Incredible comparison, but aren’t you supposed to compare yourself to the presidential opponent, and not to John McCain’s vice-presidential pick. Or maybe Obama is already conceding that Joe Biden will be the real president, and that Obama’s only inspiration is to outdo Sarah Palin on the campaign trail? It would seem so, based on these comments.

Okay, I know Obama’s really running for the presidential position, and that Biden’s his second place guy. I just marvel at another example of poor judgment and lack of perception. It’s unlikely that the Obama Channel reporter was trying to “trap” Obama—he was giving him a prepared setup question, the type candidates love to answer. But for Obama to perceive such a threat from Palin that he would flaunt the number of campaign months he spent in self-promotion as a positive accomplishment is a huge mistake. Wasn't Obama supposed to be doing things for his country instead during those long months?

Drill, Baby, Drill!

Washington Wire - WSJ.com : Steele Gives GOP Delegates New Cheer: 'Drill, Baby, Drill!'

Rudolph Giuliani at the GOP Convention: Change is not a destination; Hope is not a strategy....

“Barack Obama has never led anything. “Nothing. Nada. So, our opponents want to reframe the debate. They would have you believe that this election is about ‘change versus more of the same.’ But that’s really a false choice. Because ‘change’ is not a destination ... just as ‘hope’ is not a strategy.”

Sarah Palin's News Flash to the Obama Campaign

“Before I became governor of the great state of Alaska, I was mayor of my hometown. And since our opponents in this presidential election seem to look down on that experience, let me explain to them what the job involves. I guess a small-town mayor is sort of like a community organizer, except that you have actual responsibilities.”

Is Sexist Agenda Hurting Obama Democrats?

“Get thee to a nunnery,” says the character in one of Shakespeare’s plays to the female lead character. The playwright then goes on to describe the litany of female wiles and sensual craft which might foil, soil, and befuddle the pure, noble, and unsullied male. The thing about Shakespeare, though, was that he was too sophisticated and too intelligent to believe what his characters were saying; he merely depicted them, warts and all. That is a great deal better than the Obama supporters and campaigners who believe every vague word of what their candidate is saying, and who supply context for every mistake, and who rejected one of the best female candidates for president that the Democrats are likely to have.

For sure now, they must tear down Sarah Palin with any combination of irrationality and fear-mongering. How can Democrats supporting Obama and their media sycophants be so concerned now with “experience?” The number one man has none; they must have noticed that. A second point is that McCain has all experience in the world, and every kind of experience that a man could have, and he’s the choice of Republican primary voters. There can be nothing behind this pro-Obama press crucifixion of Sarah Palin except a barely disguised anti-woman sexism. The same sexism that banished Hillary from the VP stakes. The sexism that marginalized Hillary in ways too subtle for many people to comprehend.

I would submit that McCain is far more durable than Obama. This premature discussion of McCain mortality is ridiculous in our age, where young people die as often and sooner than the seniors of a certain age. God forbid, but who knows what aneurism or biological mutation lurks in the younger man? Those who suggest that McCain will die or become seriously ill in his first term of office should purchase high premium insurance policies on McCain’s life, life insurance which would become valid only if McCain should expire in the first term of office. I’m sure McCain would be glad to help them purchase such policies. McCain would smile wryly and tell you to put up or shut up. A bolder, more courageous man has rarely existed in American politics.

McCain VP Choice Sarah Palin's Experience Exceeds Obama's

I don’t really understand how the wing-nuts are coming out against Sarah Palin on the basis of experience. She managed a state budget of $11 bn dollars with 29,000 employees, to mention just one thing. On the other side you have a presidential candidate with zero executive experience and profound questions regarding political and personal identification. So insecure were the Obama campaign people about their guy’s lack of experience that they jettisoned a sure-fire woman winner like Hillary Clinton in favor of a 30 year long-time Washington politician, Joe Biden.

The media, of course, has been sheltering Obama since the beginning of his campaign. Publications such as the New York Times obviously feel that Obama needs sheltering; he has become something of a media celebre, a darling of Europe who is destined for the White “Hutte”, in spite of Rezko, in spite of Wright, in spite of Ayers, in spite of Larry Sinclair. Certainly not all the things one hears of Obama can be true, but the fact is that much of the media asks seeks no answers about Obama’s experience, his paper trail in state government, his support of anti-gun legislation, his housing settlement papers, and his activities as a “community organizer.”

Obama’s certainly not a “gangsta” type—he’s much too elite for that. But a “community organizer” can mean anything. I’m a “community organizer” in that I coach boxing for a largely ethnic youth population. I don’t aggrandize myself by calling myself a community organizer. Little is known about Obama’s “community organizing” and no questions are asked. I don’t think there was anything especially nefarious about Obama’s work for Acorn, for Rezko, for the housing authority? However, I would like to know exactly how noble it all was or was not.

Memo to MSNBC: Bristol Palin is not News

I’ve been perusing the headlines and spinning the channels today to find some news but all I could find was the blather about Sarah Palin’s daughter being pregnant. I do think it is news that McCain picked Palin, because the choice he made was bold and caught everyone off guard. But the children of VP candidates are not news, and neither is a 22 year old DUI by Sarah Palin's husband. I’d expected him to pick Romney, a guy with known fighting skills. With the media leaning over backwards to shelter Obama, and going out of its way to find some way to impugn McCain’s choice, he’s going to need a fighter. My guess is that he’s found one, but meanwhile we’ll have to wait until the tide rolls in and then wait for it to roll out again. I’ll bet that, ultimately, it’s the Obama camp that’s going to get wet, and they’ll have only the media to blame. The issue couldn’t have been more dead and deadly if Tim Russert were the one reporting it.
